Welcome to Sandwath Cumbria
Sorry - We no longer provide B&B
Sandwath is a former farmhouse, dating from the seventeenth
century. It occupies a 3 acre site at the foot of Green
Bell, one of the higher fells of the Howgills. Surrounded
by trees and fields it is very peaceful and yet within
easy access of Jct 38 M6 (5 mins).
Open hillsides stretch to the garden wall, and tracks
on to the Howgill Fells are on the doorstep. Sandwath
is also a mile south of the Coast to Coast route and
provides a comfortable night stop on the section from
Shap to Keld.
The west wing of Sandwath, comprising two linked bedrooms
with ensuite facilities and a large beamed sitting room,
is available for the exclusive use of our guests. A
traditional English breakfast is served in the elegantly
furnished dining room, using local produce and homemade
bread.
We are keen hill walkers and enjoy sharing our knowledge
of walking routes with our guests. Whatever your interests
we assure our guests of a warm welcome coupled with
a professional service.
